At approx. 11:40 am there was a robbery of the East Cambridge Savings Bank at 505 Common St Belmont. A suspect entered the bank and presented a note to a teller and demanded money. The teller complied, and the suspect fled the bank with an undetermined amount of cash. No weapon shown. The suspect is described as a 25-30 year old heavy set white male, 5'10" tall, wearing a baseball hat, black jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt with a maroon scarf, blue jeans and white sneakers. The robbery is currently under investigation by the Belmont police and the FBI.
