On 03/09/08 at 01:00 hours, we had an attempted armed robbery of the Courtyard Marriott (River Road area, off RTE 93). The male suspect came in, inquired about rates, and came back fifteen minutes later stating he was desperate and wanted the money. He used a syringe that was supposedly “loaded with AIDS” and threatened to stab and inject the clerk. The clerk picked up a pen and threatened to stab the suspect in self defense at which time the suspect fled. Suspect is described as a white male, no accent, early to mid 20’s, 5’7”-5’8”, 170-180 LBS., clean shaven, wearing blue jeans, a dark fleece zip up jacket, and a dark wool cap with a short bill. Suspect vehicle is a four door, color brown, possibly a Toyota Corolla.
