Suspect entered store and after making two small purchases brandished a black semi-auto handgun. As the clerk opened the cash drawer and fled the store a witness in the store attempted to intervene and take the gun from the suspect. The suspect then fired one round which struck the victim in the head casuing life threatening injuries. The suspect then fired an additional round as he fled the store on foot. Suspect is described as a white or light skinned hispanic male approx 6"00 wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, jeans and black sneakers. Last seen fleeing the store on foot. Anyone with information is urged to contact the New Bedford Police Department or Bristol County DA's Office.

Suspect identified as Corey Princiotti of 99 Whitman Street in East Bridgewater, MA. Arrested without incident on 07-16-2009.
