On June 18, 2009 the Portsmouth Police Department responded to the Jackson Gray Medical Building for a wallet snatching. While the un-suspecting elderly victim exited the building on foot, a male subject ran into the victim and knocked him to the floor. The suspect also fell to the floor and faked an injury. The suspect quickly got up and ran away.

Minutes later, the victim realized his wallet was missing from his back pocket. Less than 30 minutes later, surveillance camera’s captured an unidentified male subject making large purchases with credit cards stolen from the wallet.

The suspect is described as a lite skinned black male, in his 40’s, clean cut and well dressed.

The Portsmouth Police Department is asking the public’s help in identifying the suspect. Attached is a surveillance photograph. Anyone who may know the identity of this suspect is asked to contact Detective Aaron Goodwin @ (603) 610-7627 or by calling Seacoast Crime Stoppers at (603)431-1199
