The Winthrop Police are investigating a smash & grab that occurred on 10-17-09 on or about 04:30. Suspect was a black male approximately 5'09" - 5'11" heavy set wearing a multi colored or patterned Red Sox hat. Suspect was operating what appeared to be a light colored (light gray or silver) Jeep Grand Cherokee or an Jeep Cherokee, . Suspect vehicle was caught on tape and appeared to be headed towards Revere. Suspect filled a trash bag with approximately $3,000.00 + in cigarettes. Please see the attached suspect photo.
