On December 7, 2009, at approximately 0400 hours, Framingham Police Officers were dispatched to 501 Cochituate Road, EZ Storage for a reported B&E.

The Business Owner often sleeps at the facility and on this morning, he heard what he believed to be a customer trying to enter the grounds. He was going to advise the customer that the business was not open until 6am and brought a flashlight with him. When he looked out the second floor window, he shone the light out the window, saw a male subject and a red SUV. The subject then fled the area in the red SUV.

The Business Owner prepared video surveillance footage of the incident. It depicted a red SUV, possibly a Ford Escape or a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a white male subject getting out and going to the front door. The male subject went back to the SUV and obtained what appeared to be a red pry bar and went back to the front door.

The trim on the lockset side of the door had been torn off but no access was gained into the building before the Business Owner had turned on the lights and scared the subject off.
