On 7/29/14, at 1348 hrs, Pittsfield Police were dispatched to our local Home Depot for a past larceny. The victim, a 78 year old woman was reporting she was scammed out of thousands of dollars worth of her jewelry. She reported that earlier, at around 1200 pm she was leaving the Price Chopper Supermarket when she was approached by two women (see attached pictures). The women asked the victim if she "dropped something" then proceeded to tell her they found a bag of money.

The victim went on to say these women wanted her to become a partner in a corporation that they were going to use the money they found for. They stated that the victim needed to invest money into the corporation and that she would become a partner and in return receive $25,000 and her initial investment back. The victim then stated she gave these women $700 in cash. She was told that this was not enough money and was asked if she had any jewelry or anything of value at home. She informed them that she did and made arrangements to meet them at the Home Depot. She retrieved her jewelry from home and returned to the Home Depot where she turned it over to the women. The women then told her to meet them at Wendy's to finalize all paperwork after their "meeting" which they were having in Home Depot. After waiting about an hour she realized she was scammed.

The attached vehicle is the suspect vehicle, having only a rear plate it is believed based on the victim and from what can be seen in video to be an out of state plate.

If anyone has had similar dealings with the above suspects or recognizes them please call the Pittsfield Police Department, either Ofc. Jessica Godfroy 448-9700 ext 378, of Ofc. Shaun C. Osborn at ext 400.
