The following still shots were taken from a video surveillance system at Sears in the Auburn Mall. The black male pictured is using a credit/debit card that has been compromised from a security breach. The bank’s IT department is working diligently to locate the source of this breach. Officials at the bank stated that they have numerous victims reporting fraud over the weekend with one customer being compromised over $6K. This criminal group has made duplicate credit/debit cards with customer account numbers. In the photo, this black male purchases a package of underwear with the card. Once the transaction is authorized, the suspect knows the card is active. He then purchases gift cards totaling $1500 at this one store and made $6000 addition purchases within the Auburn Mall I am currently working with the bank for further leads. Any agencies that would like additional information and or can assist our agency in this investigation, can contact this detective.
