On Tuesday, August 11th 2015, at approximately 2:05am, Shrewsbury PD were dispatched to CVS Pharmacy located at # 197 Boston Turnpike Road (Route 9) for an armed robbery that had just occurred. The reporting party who was later determined to be the pharmacist advised that he was just robbed at gunpoint and the suspect fled the store on foot towards Harrington Avenue.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 20’s-30’s years of age wearing a navy blue colored fleece jacket, black jogging pants (possibly adidas) and a black skull cap. The pharmacist noticed the suspect had a bulge near the right side of his waist and observed what he believed to be a black or dark colored handle of a firearm.

The pharmacist stated that the suspect placed a note on the counter and said “don’t do anything stupid and no police buttons”. The note read Oxy 30’s and Xanax’s. During the entire encounter, the suspect was talking on the phone and telling the pharmacist to “hurry up”. The suspect had also stated several times to the pharmacist to not look at his face. The suspect left with roughly 300-400 pills of Oxycodones and Xanaxs.

The video footage shows that the suspect was dropped on Harrington Avenue near the intersection of the two driveways of CVS and Walgreens. When he left the building he ran out of the store towards the direction of Harrington Avenue and Walgreens. Massachusetts State Police K-9 assisted in the search and the K9 lost its strong track behind the Walgreens parking where he was likely picked up.

The manager of CVS advised me that this suspect was believed to be at the CVS in Auburn located at # 676 Southbridge Street around 1:16am. The store manager had been talking with pharmacist when he came into the store and walked in the direction of the pharmacy. The store manager and pharmacist watched him for a minute or two when he turned around and left the store without buying / stealing anything.
