The Stonington Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that occurred at 1:32 PM on April 1, 2004 at the Citizens Bank. The suspect was described as being a white male, between 5'5"-5'7" tall, approx. 180 lbs., wearing a maroon colored knit cap, maroon colored hooded jacket, sunglasses, white colored sneakers, dark colored gloves and dark colored pants. The suspect showed the teller a hand written note in black ink on a piece of white construction type paper, that said,"I have a gun, 50's, 100's." The teller attempted to take the note and suspect wouldn't let her. No known vehicle.
