The Reading Police Department is investigating an armed robbery and an attempted armed robbery that occurred last night Sunday 2/5/12. The attempt, reported at 21:53 hrs, occurred at the Mobil Station on 4 West St at the Woburn line right at closing. The suspect described as 6’2” wearing all black and a “distinctive” mustache armed with a small knife did not get any money. He fled on foot.

A half hour later the same person, we think, successfully robbed the Shell station located at 87 Walkers Brook drive by the Wakefield line. Suspect described as white male 6’2”, dressed in all black; hat, jacket, pants and also displaying a think black mustache, armed with a black serrated pocket knife fled on foot towards Wakefield.

SP K-9 checked the areas for both above crimes without any luck. Pictures will be sent out when available from the store owners. Any departments investigating similar crimes please contact the Reading Detectives.
