On Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at approximately 11:51 a.m., suspect attempted an armed robbery at the Westborough Target Department Store.

The suspect entered the department store wearing a green colored jacket (wind breaker/rain jacket) with the jacket's hood pulled over a red/maroon baseball hat. The suspect was wearing blue jeans, black shoes and a pair of sunglasses. The suspect entered the store and went directly to the customer service area. The suspect pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun from the right front pocket of the jacket. The suspect told the store clerk to "open the drawer". The store clerk was unable to open the cash register. The suspect turned and exited the store. Video surveillance recorded the suspect enter a small black sedan and drive towards Otis Street. The suspect was observed getting into the driver's seat.

The suspect is believed to be involved in a similar incident in Worcester.

On Friday June 8, 2012, the suspect in the picture labeled "similar suspect" entered the same Target and appeared to be preparing to steal a TV. It is unknown if the "similar suspect" is the same suspect in the attempted armed robbery.

Suspect was identified and arrested.
